Hard clash detection identifies physical intersections, such as a duct passing through a beam or a cable tray occupying the same space as a pipe. The result still needs context. An intended sleeve, embedded item or placeholder may be acceptable, while a small geometric overlap may indicate a serious site conflict.

We review duplicate results, linked-model conditions and element relationships before an issue is issued. Project engineers decide the required technical response.

Soft Clash Detection

Soft clash detection assesses defined separation, access or tolerance zones. Tests may consider equipment maintenance envelopes, ceiling access, insulation, fire separation, installation tolerances or working space.

Clearance criteria must come from approved project standards, manufacturer information or responsible designers. CCSI does not invent an access allowance merely to complete a test.

Federated BIM coordination brings accepted architecture, structure and trade models into a shared review environment. Native model ownership remains with the originating discipline unless the project responsibility matrix states otherwise.
